Privacy policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Vinkl processes on this website, vinkl.be, why we do so, how long we keep it and what rights you have.

1. Who processes your data

The controller is Vinkl, Vlasaardstraat 8, 8210 Veldegem, Belgium — VAT BE1002988413. For anything to do with your data, write to support@vinkl.be. For other questions, use info@vinkl.be. The full company details are on the contact page.

2. yourpace has its own policy

Vinkl also publishes yourpace, our learning platform, and is the controller there too. What yourpace processes — your account, your practice data, a subscription — is set out in the yourpace privacy policy. That is also the policy the app's Google Play listing names, and for the app — age and retention periods included — only that policy applies. This policy covers the website only.

3. What data we process

The website is a static site: you can read all of it without an account and without identifying yourself. It sets no cookies, collects no visitor statistics and loads nothing from other parties.

Server logs
Your IP address, the time, the page you request and a description of your browser. These arise automatically with every visit, so the site can be delivered and kept secure.

Lawful basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — running the site, stopping abuse and investigating faults.

Emails
If you write to info@vinkl.be or support@vinkl.be, we process your name, your email address and what you write to us, so we can reply.

Lawful basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in answering your question, or steps prior to a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) if you ask about an engagement.

We do not sell or rent your data, do not use it for advertising and make no automated decisions about you.

4. Who we share data with

Only two kinds of party are involved, and they act only on our instructions: our hosting partner, which runs the website on servers in the European Union, and our email provider, which runs our mailboxes. Beyond that, we pass data on only where the law requires us to.

If you want to know exactly which partners these are, write to support@vinkl.be — we will gladly tell you. If data ends up outside the European Economic Area through either of them, that happens only with the safeguards the GDPR requires, such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

5. How long we keep data

Server logs
At most 12 months.
Emails
As long as needed to deal with your question, and at most 12 months after that.

6. Security

All traffic to this site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and only those who need the data to keep the site or the mailboxes running have access to it.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the following rights. Exercising them is free.

Write to support@vinkl.be to exercise a right. We reply within one month. To avoid giving data to the wrong person, we may ask you to prove your identity. To delete your yourpace account, see account deletion.

8. Questions or complaints

If you have a question, or are unhappy about something, write to support@vinkl.be. We would rather put it right ourselves. You also always have the right to lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit / Autorité de protection des données), Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live.

9. Changes

If anything changes about what we process or why, we update this policy and change the date at the top. This policy always stays at the same URL.
